Internet Problems and Business Things

Ongoing internet troubles with CenturyLink have caused me to not livestream as often I'd like, but I'm working on getting that corrected - and I'm also getting a second internet source, T-Mobile 5G Internet.  It's my only other option in my new location.  Mediacom isn't here.  None of the other local fiber internet companies are here.  I'm on the wait list for Google Fiber.  I'm not interested in getting a Starlink. For the week: I did a "live art sale" - pre-recorded, because of the internet issues.  It's available on YouTube , Facebook , Twitch , BitChute , Odysee , and Rumble . I did send a weekly email , and my Instagram followers increased thanks for Reels and Posts. More "business" things to deal with this week. Ran my first "payroll" for my new LLC, and the bookkeeper made it easy. Had to get a bunch of new accounts with the State, including signing up for a State Unemployment ID code in Iowa .  That interface was...

The Week of Mark Rushton LLC

Back to the day job this past week.  Lots of furniture moving.  Continued shopping.  The entertainment of a new foundation being dug next door.  And on and on and on...  More distractions than I wanted, but they happened, and you have to deal with them. The best thing to happen was the formation of Mark Rushton LLC , a limited liability company.  I got an EIN assigned to me from the IRS.  Then my CPA filled out IRS form 2553 for me to sign and send certified mail to the IRS, and through this I have elected S Corp status.  I also created a business bank account.  Next week, I hook up with a bookkeeper the CPA uses and I'll get payroll services set up. My art/music business has always been handled as a Sole Proprietor , which means it's been handled under my own personal Social Security number.  But a few months ago I inadvertently heard a CPA casually talking during a podcast abo...
